Ill have more on the Draft and Luuuuuuke! I thought the Devils had a fine Draft, and selecting Hughes was something I was hoping and expecting so that was a nice pick.
Aside from that I thought the Devils would hop on the Trade bandwagon, bo that means they may be in the UFA game. We will see soon.

Today a minor trade, the Devils acquire D Christian Jaros from the Sharks sending Nick Merkley the other way.

The Devils also announced they have signed Jaros to a one year two-way contract. It is obvious the Merkley experiment is over as he was never able to lock in a consistent role. And with the quality youth the Devils have in the pipeline there just isn't any room for Merkley to develop and crack the lineup. Wishing him luck in San Jose.

Jaros coming is nothing more than filling out the depth of our D as I see Jaros spending most of his time in the minors. He split time up and down last season with the Sharks.

A small contract for one year ($800K at NHL level and $275K at AHL level) is a low risk signing.

Fitz continues addressing his "Three Things" and I believe the Devils will be active in Free Agency.

We have heard a lot of smoke with Dougie Hamilton which I think makes our D 10xs better than the last decade! Much has been written about the "mutual" interest the Hamilton Camp and Devils have.
Tarasenko perhaps? Perhaps.
With a lot of goalies out there, I do expect the Devils to pursue a vet. I think Halak could be an attractive option.

The ideas plenty.

Burning Question.... WWFD - What Will Fitz Do?

Truly yours,
