After acquiring Pavel Buchnevich from the New York Rangers last Friday, the St. Louis Blue have locked up the 26-year-old left-winger to a four-year contract worth $23.2 million ($5.8 million AAV).

Spending the last five seasons with New York, Buchnevich recorded 79 goals, added 116 assists, and averaged 15:55 of ice-time. Last season, he posted 48 points in 54 games, averaging 18:44 of ice-time.

This is a fantastic deal for the Blues as it addresses their top-six with a player whose best years are still to come. At the end of the deal, Buchnevich will still only be 30-years-old, allowing both him and St. Louis to decide whether they want to keep in the fold for likely the rest of his career.
