Poturalski is 27 years old and originally signed with the Hurricanes back in 2016, playing two NHL games with the team in 2017. He was also a key part of the Charlotte Checkers’ Calder Cup win in 2019, where he led the team in points and was named AHL Playoffs MVP.
Since then, he’s spent two years with the Anaheim Ducks’ organization, playing with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls. This past season, Poturalski scored nine goals and 43 points in 44 games, which was good enough to lead the Gulls in points.
While it’s unlikely Poturalski will win a spot with the Hurricanes, he should play a key role with the Chicago Wolves next season.
