Penguins have Domingue fever

The Penguins have boosted the organizational depth at the goaltender position

There's nothing wrong with getting a goaltender with NHL experience to bolster depth for the farm team. It will be a boon for Filip Lindberg who will be a rookie and splitting time with the veteran, Domingue. This is an ideal situation for Lindberg’s development and that is what should be the primary concern with the goaltending position in WB/S.

If something were to happen with Tristan Jarry and/or Casey DeSmith Domingue would be able to be called up in a pinch in theory. While I like the move for the Baby Penguins it would likely be ideal if Domingue stayed there. He has very limited playing time the last two seasons due to the whole COVID situation. He has played in 14 AHL games for three different teams (Syracuse, Binghampton, Stockton) and 18 games between three NHL teams (New Jersey, Vancouver, Calgary) the past two years. In those 18 games he had a 5v5 save percentage of .882 and a –13.55 goals saved above average. His high-danger save percentage at 5v5 was .690.

So, a good signing for WB/S depth. He should help Lindberg learn the ropes of being a professional. As far as the NHL is concerned it is probably a non-factor and that is fine.
