The Toronto Maple Leafs will be taking part in the Traverse City Prospect Tournament for the second time and announced on Tuesday their roster for the five-day tournament. A roster of 26 players (15 forward, 8 defensemen and 3 goalies) will compete against prospects from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, and St. Louis Blues from September 16 to September 20 at the Centre ICE Arena in Traverse City, MI.
Toronto Marlies head coach Greg Moore and the coaching staff of A.J. MacLean, John Snowden, Eric Wellwood and T.J. Millar will oversee the team.
Attending the tournament will be 2021 NHL Draft pick Ty Voit (Sarnia), 2020 NHL Draftee William Villeneuve (Saint John), 2019 selections Mikhail Abramov (Victoriaville) and Nick Robertson), 2018 Draft pick Semyon Der-Arguchintsev (Torpedo - KHL), 2017 NHL Draftee Ian Scott and four players signed to NHL contracts (Joseph Duszak, Pavel Gogolev, Erik Källgren, Alex Steeves).
The balance of the roster will include eight players signed to AHL contracts (Ryan Chyzowski, Curtis Douglas, Matt Hellickson, Noel Hoefenmayer, Riley McCourt, Jeremy McKenna, Keith Petruzzelli, Matteo Pietroniro) and eight free agent invitees (Brett Budgell, Jordan Frasca, James Hardie, Braeden Kressler, Lleyton Moore, Cedric Paré, Colby Saganiuk, Vincent Sévigny).
The club will play Columbus on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 3pm, St. Louis on Friday, Sept. 17 at 3pm, Dallas on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 2pm, and Columbus again on Monday, Sept. 20 at 1pm.
