This one may be the most controversial to date as he has not been willing to make the jump to the North American ice; however, the hope is with the jump could soon.
#8 Kirill Marchenko (SKA St Petersburg — KHL)
Pushing the limits by age and zero North American hockey experience, Russian winger Kirill Marchenko was selected in the second round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft (49th overall) out of the Kontential Hockey League. Most believe the Russian league is behind the NHL as the second best hockey league in the world, so the competition for Marchenko is stronger for him at home; same with the money.
Marchenko is lower on my list compared to almost everyone else as he hasn’t made the jump yet, and will he? Don’t get me wrong, he’s got talent and top six forward potential, it’s the stalling of not adding the North American ice to the pedigree, and jumping with the NHL that throws me off on him and his future. Really looking forward to what everyone else thinks...
