Gameday Preview: Flyers vs. Islanders

The Philadelphia Flyers open their six game preseason schedule on Tuesday with a home game against the New York Islanders at the Wells Fargo Center. Game time is 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on NBCSP+.

The Flyers will have a morning skate at the Flyers Training Center in Voorhees (10 a.m.) for the players who will be on the game roster against the Islanders. There will be a separate 75-minute (11:30 a.m. to 12:45 a.m.) practice for the non-game group.

The Flyers game-day lineup will be added to this blog along with the Islanders' roster (if released in a timely fashion) later today. Flyers head coach Alain Vigneault indicated before the start of camp that the same primary line combinations will remain together through the first four practices and the opening game of the preseason before he tries out some different looks. He was uncertain whether Carter Hart or Martin Jones would get the start in this game but the plan is for one to start this game and the other to start in Boston on Thursday. In each of the first two games, the starter will play the first two periods and then either Samuel Ersson or Felix Sandström will play the third period. Hart has been paired on practice rosters with Ersson and Jones with Sandström thus far.
