Blue Jackets center Sean Kuraly pots his first as a part of the Columbus organization. The hometown boy gets the help from Alexandre Texier and Eric Robinson on the goal. Strong start from the fourth line of Columbus tonight.

Garnet Hathaway scores seconds into the second to make it 2-1 Washington with his second of the season. Forwards Brett Leason and Lars Eller had the assists.
Hathaway added to the lead with his third of the year with the team’s third goal of the game; Eller and Ovi had the helpers.
Kuraly added to his goal production with his second goal of his Columbus career. Voracek added with his 11th assist in a Columbus uniform this season.
Nyqvist got on the board with his second of the year with a backhander to tie the game at 3.

Start of the third
Update 9:30pm
With just 90 seconds left, Connor Sheary pots his second of the year to make it 4-3 DC.
The score is final 4-3 Washington.
Updated 9:50pm
Ilya Samsonov has stopped 26 of 27 shots for a 0.897 save percentage.
Washington winger Axel Johnson-Fjallby earned his first NHL career point against Columbus. Seeing his development blossom, this is a bittersweet moment to see even at the cost of Korpisalo and the Jackets’ two points. After losing him for a couple days off the waiver wire to Buffalo, he has become Hershey’s top forward with the Bears and slowly becoming a draft pick steal for Washington.
Alexander Ovechkin is now at 12 goals in 13 games, and now is solo at 4th place in the all time scoring in the NHL. The greatest goal scorer in the our generation
Update 11:50pm
Sean Kuraly, the Dublin, Ohio native, got his first two goals in his tenure with Columbus in the home building tonight. What a moment for him to also get his goals in a new uniform and city, and it not be in Boston. The fourth line center man was the star that shined the brightest for Columbus.
Joonas Korpisalo got the short end of the stick, in yet another loss for the net minder that has been through it all in Columbus. Between Forsberg, Bobrovsky, McElhinney, and Merzlikins, he has seen them all here in his career.
Columbus Blue Jackets 3 Stars of the Night
1. Sean Kuraly— 2 goals (2)
2. Gustav Nyqvist— goal (2)
3. Jakub Voracek — assist (11)
