The Wild made things interesting late in yesterday's game in Florida but this time the late game heroics were not enough.

Florida exerted there dominance in the first period and the Wild chased the game the rest of the way. That is not a good formula no matter the opponent, but especially one that is as strong as the Panthers are.

Jared Spurgeon was forced to leave the game with a lower body injury and will not be in the lineup today as thw Wild faceoff with the Lightning in Tampa.

Tampa will come in with a little extra fire after blowing a 3-1 lead after two periods and allowing the Devils to score three and then seal it with an empty netter, 5-3 at home.

Tampa is the defending Cup Champs so expect a very professional approach to detail and the Wild will be forced to match that effort. Staying out of the box is mission critical today for the Wild.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
