Happy Devils New Year!
New Jersey Devils have won their second in a row after a big victory over the Edmonton Oilers 6-5 in OT on a Jack Hughes game winning goal. Hughes has six points in the last two games since Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald infamously declared that they will hit the reset button and the answers are within the players in the locker room.
“It was important to get that win, especially at home in front of our fans,” Hughes said.
Important indeed because the six week slump had Devils fans calling for coaching changes and a change in direction for the organization. Good win to close out 2021. Thank goodness!
Another big test will be tomorrow’s game on the road against the Washington Capitals. Devils have struggled mightily in the past two years but expect a more rejuvenated and confident Devils team to show up at Capital One Arena.
Taxi Squad Changes
Forwards Alexander Holtz and Nolan Foote have been added to the Devils taxi squad. They will both join the team in Washington D.C. before the Devils take on the Capitals.
Happy Hughes Year!
Very punny.
