We have a hockey game tonight!
As of now, the New Jersey Devils will take on the New York Islanders tonight at UBS Arena. It seems like it has been an eternity since the last game the Devils played, which was Columbus last Saturday.
Jon Gillies will be the starting netminder for the Devils. Mackenzie Blackwood and Akira Schmid are both in the NHL’s COVID-10 protocol and we’ll wait later today who will be backing up Gillies.
Who will be the backup Devils goaltender “without any” NHL experience?
2022 NHL Draft Midterm Rankings Released
Devils fans have been focusing on the top picks of the NHL Draft in the past eight years with the exception of 2018. It appears to be Shane Wright to be on top of the list.
From Mike Morreale of NHL.com:
"There was not consensus for the No. 1 ranking [in North America] for the 2022 draft class at midseason, but at this point Shane Wright does maintain the top spot," director of NHL Central Scouting Dan Marr said. "Taking everything into account, Shane remains a desirable package of NHL talent and has proven he can carry the load and be the difference maker when it's needed in game situations. He has both conducted and carried himself remarkably well amongst the many disruptions and distractions of the past year and a half."
