With 4 afternoon games plus an early evening game too, we get our fill of NHL hockey all day today, approximately 12 hours of worth of it on Martin Luther King Day!
DET/BUFF - 1pm EST - The Sabres are still without 4 goalies and are reeling from injuries. The Wings won the front end of the home and home 4-0. Detroit is off until Friday at home vs. Dallas. Total is set at 5.5, Detroit struggles to win let alone score on the road, no lean on the total 5.5, slight lean to Detroit -135.
MIN/COL - 3pm EST - The Avs have won 12 of their last 14 games and are as good as Florida at home! The Wild snapped a 5 game losing streak and have now won 3 in a row but have only played once since Jan. 8th! Minny is a solid team and to be a dog +187, hard to pass that up as the Avs have had to come from behind in a lot of these wins of late.
MTL/AZ - 4pm EST - Battle of the 2 worst teams in the NHL with both teams having long injury lists of 10 and 11 players respectively! Habs -115 vs home fav -105, usually means for me to take the team -115 in this spot. I like the over here as both teams are terrible defensively. Small lean to Montreal as they do possess more talent, plus I like the over 5.5.
LA/SJ - 4pm EST - After a nice east coast road trip, the Sharks have lost both games at home since LA has won 4 in a row. SJ has gone under the total in 5 straight games. The Sharks have won the last 4 home meetings vs. LA in the last 10 months! Lean to SJ -105 as they dominated Pitt and should've won Sat. night, even with the trend of LA -115 vs. a -105 fav. LA has won 6 of 8 games since the break and have TB at home tmrw night and COL on Thursday night.
CHI/SEA - 5pm EST - The Kraken have lost 9 in a row, this will be the 2nd game of a 6 game homestand. The Hawks have won 4 in a row and won at Seattle 4-2 back in November. This line look too easy as both teams are -110. Small lean to the Hawks here.
PHI/NYI - First meeting this season between these 2 teams, with the Isles having only played 2 games since Jan. 1st, splitting those 2. This is the front end of a home and home, with the Flyers having lost 7 games in a row. Lean to the NYI -175.
NASH/STL - This should be a great game with 2 of the top teams in the West, Preds won the first meeting this year 4-3OT and NSH has won the last 5 games against STL. The Blues have won 5 of 7 games since the break and after tonight are off until Friday night against Seattle. Saros looks tired for the Preds having started 8 of those 9 games since the break and have now lost 2 in a row. Lean to STL -122.
PITT/VEG - The Pens were so lucky to win at SJ on Sat. night as they were outplayed all game long and are playing their 6th game in 13 days on the road! Vegas has been off since Tuesday night when they hosted Toronto and don't play again until Thursday night at home to Montreal. HUGE lean to Vegas -110! Great spot for the Knights!
