We have a great looking card tonight after splitting our dog plays last night but still had a nice profit! Tonight has 9 games on the slate, analysis is below.
WASH/BOS - Bruins 5 game winning streak got snapped on Tuesday by Carolina in a blowout. Boston has won 8 of their last 10 and is on a 7 game homestand. The Caps are 2-5 in the New Year and got blasted at home 7-3 by the Bruins just over a week ago. Lean to the Bruins -150.
DAL/BUFF - The Stars are struggling big time and the Sabres are miserable, this game is a pass for me. The Sabres have lost 8 of their last 10 games are playing 3 in 4 nights. Dallas has lost 3 in a row and is 3-4 since the break. Buff +155 very small lean as I know most of you ask me on IM if I had to pick a side, what would it be?
CLB/PHI - The Flyers have lost 9 in a row but 4 of their last 5 losses have been by a goal. The Jackets are 4-5 since the break but 1-2 on the road, they are a different team on the road whereas Philly has played better hockey at home. Lean to the Flyers +130 as they finally snap their losing streak.
OTT/PITT - The Pens are off a 6 game roadie and go back on the road tomorrow night to CLB, a horrible spot for them and expect the Pens to play their 3rd string goalie in Domingue tonight. Sens seem to play down to their competition and play up to their competition, strong lean to the Ottawa +235. Sens have knocked off a bunch of the top teams, Florida, Carolina, Colorado, TB, Toronto and they already beat Pitt 6-3 this year. Murray is out for Ottawa so he won't get to play his former team. Forsberg or Gustavsson will get the start in goal.
WIN/NASH - The Preds have lost 4 in a row and look tired especially their goalie Saros. The coach can't keep playing Saros this much in goal and it's finally catching up to him. Nashville has played the most games since the break, this will be their 12th game tonight. The Jets are really banged up but they have only played 5 games since the break! Lean to the Jets +115.
FL/EDM - The Panthers are brutal on the road, while they cant lose at home. They looked awful 2 nights ago in Calgary and now they get a pissed off Oilers team tonight. Florida has won 8 of their last 10 games, those 2 losses came on the road. They are on a 5 game roadie and tonight they continue to lose on the road. Strong lean to the Oilers +130, they have only played once since Jan. 5th and that was on Saturday in a loss to the Sens. The Oilers have lost 6 in a row since the break but I look for their best effort of the year tonight.
COL/LA - The Avs played a very tough game last night in Anaheim as the Ducks play a heavy style of hockey. The Kings sat rested and are playing some great hockey plus the last 6 games at home to COL they lost 3 games by a score of 3-2 but beat the Avs twice and lost in a shootout. Strong lean +170.
SJ/SEA - The Sharks lost in Seattle last month 3-1 and have TB on deck at home Saturday. This is a bad spot for SJ while Seattle is on a 6 game homestand. Pass for me, better games on the card.
MTL/VEG - The Habs snapped their 6 game losing streak with a win in Dallas. Vegas is off a terrible loss at home, blowing a 3-0 lead to Pitt, losing 5-3. Vegas has lost 3 in a row and 4 of their last 5 games, VEG PL -150 is probably the way to go as they head out on a 4 game roadie after this game. Lean Vegas PL -150.
