The day has finally come. Tom Wilson is an All-Star! Wilson will be replacing Alex Ovechkin who recently entered COVID protocol. According to multiple reports, Ovechkin did actually test positive for COVID. I hope is okay and has a speedy recovery. Back to Tom Wilson:

I must say, I was a little surprised to hear Tom Wilson would be replacing Alex Ovechkin. I actually do believe Tom Wilson is a worthy additional to the All-Start roster. I do not doubt Tom Wilson and his abilities, I just know there are other players who are offensively way better than Tom Wilson. From the Metro Division, guys like Crosby and Panarin were left off the All-Stat roster. Huh? That is absolutely insane to me. If I am the NHL and I am trying to market the brand with some of the games best players, Crosby AND Panarin should be on the All-Star squad for the metro. I have a general idea of rosters were seleted but I am not exactly sure how replacement players are picked. If anyone knows, feel free to chime in.

Tom Wilson is having himself a career year. He has 13G-18A-31P in 43 games played. He is scoring .720 points per game. He has 3 power play goals, 5 power play points, one short handed goal, and two short handed points. He leads the team with 128 hits. The most points Tom Wilson has scored in a season is 44 back in the 2019-2020 season. His career high in goals in a season is 22, his career high in a assists in a season is 23. Wilson will likely set personal bests in most, if not all, offensive statistical categories.

Wilson will be participating in the Hardest Shot Challenge at the All-Star game.
