Hughes To Play Wing? Hamilton Inching Closer To Return |

The good news. Jack Hughes practiced with the team. The bad news? Jesper Bratt is most likely out with an “upper-body” injury and Hughes most likely will take Bratt’s place in the lineup.

"With our system, I don't think it matters too much," Hughes shared, "So it's exciting and Nico, you know, I don't get to play with him much. So it'll be good."
The first line will be the center of attention with Yegor Sharangovich, Nico Hischier, and Hughes playing together. Hughes is at his best when he has room to operate and with a shoot first mentality. And the Devils have the option to move Hughes to center and Hischier to the wing.

I had a conversation with Nico," Ruff shared after practice on Saturday, "Where you know, Nico can go on the wing, Jack can be in the middle, You've got really three guys that have played center with Shar, Jack, and Nico."
The Devils have been a scoring machine in the past two games putting up 14 goals in total and chemistry brewing with Michael McLeod, Nathan Bastian, and Mason Geertsen line combination. Jesper Boqvist also has emerged recently has been giving the Devils some offensive production and crucial goals as of late.

Hamilton Practices Without The No-Contact Jersey
Dougie Hamilton is inching closer to the Devils lineup after being sidelined with a jaw injury that required surgery. He did not make the Devils three game road trip but has been getting ready and now finally participated in his first full practice without the no-contact jersey. It is a matter of time when Hamilton will be ready to join the Devils in the lineup.
