While most players were on the ice this morning, both Christian Dvorak and Joel Armia were getting treatments and will not travel with the team to New York, which doesn’t mean much since the Canadiens will be back in Montreal for a game on Monday night against the Leafs. Armia’s injury means that Michael Pezzetta will draw back in, pretty good news considering his compete level is always high unlike the very hot and cold Armia.

It’s good to see Schueneman on the second pairing alongside Alexander Romanov, since Chiarot’s injury has allowed him to draw in, he’s been performing very well, much like he has every time he was called up this year. I truly hope that when (if he’s not traded before) Chiarot comes back into the line-up (St-Louis seems to think he will play tomorrow), Clague will be the one to make way as he’s playing every bit as the waiver pick-up that he was.
Tomorrow the Canadiens will take on the Islanders at 2:00 PM, Barry Trotz’s men are not having a great season and will likely miss the playoffs but they’ve still got 18 wins this year, twice as much as the Habs. Andrew Hammond will be between the pipes and will see his first bit of NHL action for over 3 years.
Pendant que la plupart des joueurs étaient sur la glace ce matin, Christian Dvorak et Joel Armia n’y étaient pas puisqu’ils recevaient des traitements et ne feront pas le voyage à New York avec l’équipe. Cela ne veut pas dire grand-chose, puisque c’est un court voyage d’un match et le CH sera de retour à Montréal lundi pour affronter les Maple Leafs. La blessure d’Armia permettre à Michael Pezzetta de réintégrer l’alignement, ce qui est une bonne nouvelle, considérant qu’il fournit toujours un bon niveau d’effort, ce qui n’est pas toujours le cas pour Armia qui a tendance à être capable du pire et du meilleur.

C’est bien de voir Schueneman sur le deuxième duo avec Alexander Romanov, depuis que la blessure à Ben Chiarot lui a permis de percer l’alignement, il performe très bien, comme à chaque fois ou il a été rapellé cette saison. J’espère vraiment que quand Chiarot reviendra au jeu (s’il n’est pas échangé avant -St-Louis semble croire qu'il jouera demain), c’est Clague qui cédera sa place, lui qui joue exactement comme on s’attend de voir jouer un joueur obtenu par le biais du ballotage.
Demain, les Canadiens affronteront les Islanders à 2:00 PM, les hommes de Barry Trotz connaissent une saison difficile et manqueront fort probablement les séries, mais ils ont quand même 18 victoires au compteur, deux fois plus que les Habs. Andrew Hammond sera devant le filet demain et jouera dans la LNH pour la première fois depuis plus de 3 ans.
