The Coyotes must be nuts. That’s all I can say about this whole concept. Trading Jakob Chychrun, one of the hardest kinds of players to replace, who is young and under a reasonable salary, is virtually impossible to do…and no return will be fair market…
And yet, the talks were heating up over the weekend and now, sources I talk to, expect a deal could come as soon as this week…
Who are the main players?
The Kings…
Rob Blake has long coveted Jakob Chychrun and he has the kinds of pieces which could make a deal happen..The Coyotes want Quinton Byfield, which may prove impossible as it was for the Yoyes to get Florida to put Lundell into the deal…
The NY Rangers…
The Rangers have a long history of trading with the Coyotes, and I am told Georgiev would be part of this deal…
The Boston Bruins.
The Bruins won’t want to put a top line player into the deal but are willing to part with the most draft picks moving forward.
The Edmonton Oilers…
Edmonton is playing better, but still giving up way too many high quality chances at this point.. The defense has to be upgraded and therefore I am told the Oilers are looking at all options…including Jakob Chychrun…
