Breaking: According to David Pagnotta of the 4th Period:

Max Domi has been linked to the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs

Columbus continues their home cooking in the Nationwide Arena when they do battle with the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at 7 o’clock. The Blue Jackets enjoyed their day off, while the Leafs dropped a road game to the dead last Montreal Canadiens.

Following the loss, the Leafs made their second trade in 24 hours with the Arizona Coyotes. On Sunday, the Leafs moved winger Nick Ritchie with a conditional 2nd round draft pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft to the Yotes for winger Ryan Dzingel and defenseman Ilya Lybushukin. Toronto then placed Dzingel on waiver to be sent to the Marlies, and was claimed by the San Jose Sharks. Last night, the Leafs acquired goaltender Carter Hutton for future considerations, though he is remaining put in Tuscon to be with the Roadrunners.

The Leafs losing offense doesn’t hurt them, but losing more draft capital to a team that now has acquired 20 draft picks shows where the Coyotes are headed. Lybushukin, having played with Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Jacob Chychrun, is great to see he can play with top guys, but he’s a defensive defenseman for the depth of the roster. With Ritchie and Dzingel gone, it shows their need is on offense, though they’re dangling Dermott, Mrazek, and Holl.

Toronto is a buyer, and they’re going up against a seller tonight in Columbus. Domi and Korpisalo still hold as the top pieces to be moved. Edmonton is very much in on Korpi, tho Domi I’ve only heard Pittsburgh from one source, and don’t believe that will happen.

As for tonight’s game, Muzzin is a game time decision. Otherwise, lineups are the same for Columbus as well.

Players to Watch

Toronto— Auston Matthews— 33 goals and 59 points in 46 games, he’s a generational talent. Maybe the future best American born player of all time.

Columbus— Max Domi— imagine him being like his father and being with Toronto?! Maybe another first rounder comes back in this deal too?
