The Oilers are going very hard after Marc Andre Fleury again. From what I am hearing they are talking to teams about taking Koskinen as well, and one of those teams may be….
On the Devils…
The Devils feel they see an opportunity to improve their goaltending moving forward and they are prepared to make an upgrade…From what I am told they could take either Smith or Koskinen if NJ does indeed land Fleury…. The also could move for Khudobin or Holtby. (Should the Stars move one..). They also are still in talks about a Boeser for Zacha deal and have talked Halak…
On the Blue Jackets…
Columbus is an interesting team and quietly continue to be relevant right now… Losing their last two games didn’t help of course as now they sit 10 points back, but with a game in hand on a Caps team that frankly isn’t as good as Columbus is right now. There are still 30 games to play and Columbus has the ability to do something bold here. I have heard they have serious interest in Montreal’s Brendan Gallagher…Most teams aren’t going to touch that contract and term, but Columbus likes term and sees him as the proto-typical Blue jacket.
On the Pacific Division…
The Kings are suddenly joining the Flames as playoff definite. While the standings may not put them that far ahead of Vegas, all you have to do is watch them play to realize this is a serious playoff team…This puts Vegas in a VERY precarious spot.. Edmonton will improve at the deadline. Right nw the Oilers are only 1 point back of Vegas…and the Wildcard race could come down to Vegas vs Dallas… Ans Dallas is only one point behind Vegas too. Also don’t look now but Anaheim and Now even Vancouver are making runs…
I truly believe Vegas is in trouble and they need to make moves pre-deadline to enable Stone to return BEFORE the season ends…Otherwise, I seriously think they miss the playoffs entirely.

Ok, so my old high school in South Jersey, Cherry Hill East, is playing for the South Jersey High School Hockey Championship tonight at the Flyers Practice Facility in Voorhees NJ…Good luck coach Scott Busler and gang! Bring one home for the Red and White!! Hockeybuzz will be attending!
