Claude Giroux. Marc-Andre Fleury. Hampus Lindholm. Rickard Rakell. Plenty of big name players moved on the NHL Trade Deadline day. But some younger, lesser known players, also changed jerseys.

Here is a look at some meaningful NHL trade deadline acquisitions that flew under the radar:

Forward Tyler Smilanic, Montreal Canadiens: The Florida Panthers didn't want to give him up, but parted with his rights to complete a trade for veteran defenseman Ben Chiarot. Boasts 27 goals in 68 games for Quinnipiac over his first two seasons in college hockey.

Defenseman Justin Barron, Montreal Canadiens:
The Habs picked him up from the Colorado Avalanche in the Artturi Lehkonen deal. The former Quebec Major Junior Hockey League standout has been playing in the AHL. He projects to be a shutdown defenseman with some offensive ability. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Barron is a quality skater. All he needs is to find some consistency with his aggressiveness and he will be ready for the NHL.

Defenseman Drew Helleson, Anaheim Ducks: Came from Colorado in the Josh Manson trade. Helleson is a smooth, full service defenseman who played for USA at the recent Olympics. Anaheim rookie sensation Trevor Zegras, who knows Helleson well from the U.S. National Team Development program, believes Helleson can step into the NHL now. He's currently playing for the San Diego Gulls. The Ducks traded away two veteran defensemen, opening up some possibilities for Helleson to play next season

Forward Jack McBain, Arizona Coyotes:
GM Bill Armstrong gave up a second-round pick to Boston College player McBain who informed the Minnesota Wild he wouldn't sign with them. Will have a chance to play this season in Arizona. He scored 19 goals in 24 games this season. He will definitely be an NHL player. The question is whether he will score at the NHL level.

Goalie Calle Clang, Anaheim Ducks
: Picked up from the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Rickard Rakell deal. Clang, a former Penguins' third round pick, is having a quality season as a 19-year-old for Rogle BK Angelholm in the Swedish League. In 19 games, he has a 10-5 record with a 2.28 goals-against average and .915 save percentage.

Defenseman Aidan Hreschuk, Columbus Blue Jackets: Came to the Blue Jackets in the Max Domi Swap. He's a 5-foot-11 two-way defenseman in his freshman season at Boston College. He came through the U.S. National Team Development Program. He was drafted in the third round in 2021.

Defenseman Jake Walman, Detroit Red Wings: Walman is 25 and has played 58 NHL games with the St. Louis Blues, including 32 this season. He came from the Blues in the Nick Leddy deal. Couldn't break through in St. Louis. But he will get a chance to play in Detroit. Skilled athlete. He can skate and likes to shoot the puck. He's also 6-foot-2 and the Red Wings were looking for more size on the blue line.
