The Lottery is over! Last night’s draft lottery was aired on ESPN in the States and on Sportsnet in Canada. For Columbus, they failed to raise their stock, yet succeeded in dropping it in the same moment. This led to the Jackets’ keeping their own pick at number 12. Additionally, they keep the pick from the Chicago Blackhawks.

The trade is complete! For Cole Sillinger, Adam Boqvist, Jake Bean, and the 6th overall pick in the 2022 draft; the Blackhawks got back Seth Jones, Nolan Allan, and the 172nd overall pick in the 2022 draft.

More of this trade will be discussed on nights one and two of the draft as from now until then it’s all hypothetical as to who will Columbus take with pick 6.

The question is who will be on the board with and between picks number 6 and 12? It’s a very wide open of selection for taking to benefit the offense this draft, with next to no defensive options in round 1.

Most boards have the top 3 set between Canadian forward Shane Wright, American forward Logan Cooley, and Slovak forward Juraj Slafkovský. These are the 3 that Columbus won’t get, unless there’s some miracle. Other columnists and reporters have had Matthew Savoie; David Jircek; Jokaim Kemell; Simon Nimec; and Frank Nazar. Meanwhile, in the 12 slot, there was a wider result, from Brad Lambert to Jimmy Snuggerud, Marco Kasper, Pavel Mintyukov, Denton Mateychuk, Kevin Korchinski; and Danila Yurov.

More will be discussed aboht each prospect in a separate blog and discussion.

More to come…
