For the first time since 1996, your Florida Panthers are headed to the second round of the playoffs!
What a wild first round it was against the Capitals. Credit to Washington for incorporating schemes to slow the potent offense of the Cats and put real doubt in the minds of Florida fans (and players). I certainly had my doubts if were being honest. It was such an up-and-down series that it felt like it could go either way and it honestly seemed like the Caps were going to surprise the league by knocking out the Panthers in the first round.
I have to believe Toronto or Tampa (whoever moves on) will try to apply similar tactics WSH did when the second round starts up. I personally would LOVE to see a Battle of Florida again. Who do you guys want to see?
The Game 6 win has infused a new confidence for me in the Cats. Florida took everything a desperate Washington team threw at them last night (and the physicality was nonstop) and found a way to get the W. They showed they can weather storms and get the job done.
Florida is for real and I’m looking forward to seeing what a little rest will do for them before heading into a fresh round…
