I posted a World Junior Championship column last week. With the tourney kicking off again and rosters finalized, this blog will serve as an update as to which Rangers have made the team. The number has grown slightly since my prior column and congratulations to the seven Rangers who are wearing their country's colors in Red Deer, Alberta.

New York has seven members of their organization suiting up. That total is third amongst the 31 teams, bested only by Detroit's nine and Minnesota's eight. Granted, a few changes were necessitated by the cancellation/postponement of the original games and timeframe for when play is now resuming, resulting in a few of the original players sitting or opting out. The impact is that a few new faces have made squads, including Brennan Othmann, Jaroslav Chmelar and Adam Sykora for the Rangers. Irrespective of why, New York having seven players is a new coup and indicates that the system may not be as bereft as first thought by some.
