The New York Islanders have four prospects participating at the World Juniors this year.

Three of their prospects will be representing Finland (who opened the tournament with a win over Latvia yesterday) being Matias Rajaniemi, Aatu Raty and Eetu Liukas. Rajaniemi was selected by the Islanders in the sixth round of the 2020 NHL Draft and won Bronze at the 2021 World Juniors. Raty and Liukas were both drafted by the team in 2021, with Raty being taken 52nd overall and Liukas selected 157th overall.

William Dufour is the only Islanders’ prospect at the tournament not representing Finland. The forward was selected in the 5th round of the 2020 NHL Draft and will be suiting up for Canada.
