Ok…so as we have seen now…with Tkachuk and Eichel, a “You’re the GM” Blog means that player will be traded in the next 48 hours….Sorry Mr. Kane…
In all seriousness its time for everyone’s favorite game: You’re the GM. Today, I get to play GM of the Chicago Blackhawks, and YOU get to put forth your best, and most realistic deal, to convince me I should trade you superstar Patrick Kane.
The best offers will be posted in a blog soon after…assuming the player isn’t ACTUALLY Traded before then…which in this case i do believe he won’t be. Sources I talk to who have tried to start talks with the Hawks have been told, “Not yet” essentially that Kane won’t be moved prior to the season.
I believe the Hawks, AS OF NOW, see Kane as a potential HUGE Trade Deadline chip…maybe the best ever. The reasoning is likely that they feel Kanye’s salary is something a team a contender wouldn’t want to, or need to, carry the entire season. And therefore the price would be higher to acquire Kane later in the season. Picking up Kane in February would truly be a game changer for a contender. Can you imagine adding one of the best playoff/clutch players of all time to a team already with a strong chance at a Cup. The Rangers, Panthers, Oilers, Avalanche, Leafs, Tampa..all these teams would be chomping at the bit to make that happen.
So who out there wants him?
