The Anaheim Ducks have reportedly signed defenseman Nathan Beaulieu to a professional tryout, accordingly to CapFriendly.

Beaulieu is 29 years old and played 24 games with the Winnipeg Jets this past season, managing four assists and averaging 10:46 per game in ice time. The defenseman has played a total of 419 NHL games, suiting up for the Montreal Canadiens, Buffalo Sabres and Winnipeg Jets.

The Ducks already have seven, or maybe even eight defensemen who should get roster spots, so it’s an interesting decision to see them bringing Beaulieu to training camp on a PTO. He’ll join four other players also on PTOs with Anaheim, being Nikolas Brouillard, Brent Gates, Josh Healey and Dmitri Osipov.
