Day 1 of camp is in the books and from what I’ve been reading/seeing, it sounds like Maurice and Co. put the guys through the wringer to see where their off-season conditioning was at and to test their mental fortitude right off the bat.
Though extremely early yet, it appears Maurice might be more of a disciplinarian and will hold guys accountable. This is a contrast to Brunette, who always appeared more easygoing/laid back and buddy’s with the players.
Good.
No easy path for this group. No coming out thinking because of the success of the 2021-22 regular season that you can coast to a repeat performance. This isn’t a country club. They’re going to have to work.
There wasn’t a ton of info on line combos and pairings. Looking forward to getting more of that as things shake out over the next few days. Jameson Olive did say that Ekblad and Forsling were together for Day 1. I like the sound of that.
