The Flyers will open their six-game preseason schedule with an exhibition game against the Boston Bruins at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday evening. Game time is 7:00 p.m. EDT. The game will be televised on NBCSP+ with a radio broadcast on 97.5 The Fanatic with an online simulcast on
Flyers Radio 24/7.
The Flyers will dress a youthful lineup in Saturday's game, which will be coached by Phantoms head coach Ian Laperriere and his Lehigh Valley staff. New Flyers head coach John Tortorella and his NHL assistants will observe the game from balcony level.
At the behest of general manager Chuck Fletcher and assistant general manager Brent Flahr -- who are making the Flyers lineup for each of the first three preseason games -- none of the players who are locks for the opening night roster are in the lineup for the first preseason game. Veteran tryout players Artem Anisimov and Antoine Roussel along with veteran depth defenseman Kevin Connauton (re-signed by the Flyers to a two-way contract this summer) are the NHL-experienced players in the Flyers' lineup for this game.
Below are the game-night rosters for both teams. For a more in-depth preview of players and storylines to watch, see
Five Things on PhiladelphiaFlyers.com.
Projected Flyers line combinations:
Lycksell - Frost - Tippett
Roussel - Laczynski - Allison
N. Cates - J. Cates - Foerster
Willman - Anisimov - Hodgson
York - Attard
Zamula - Seeler
Connauton - Belpedio
Felix Sandström and Troy Grosenick will split the goaltending duties in this game. Sandström will start and Grosenick will come in midway through the second period.
