Preseason official begins today when the Panthers take on the Predators in Nashville as part of a doubleheader. The first game gets underway at 4:00 PM (ET) and Game 2 will kick off at 8 PM (ET).
After a grinding training camp, it sounds like Maurice plans on having Florida regulars in both games today, with prospects and vets (who are on the bubble) filling in those open spots.
"Every single Florida Panther that's healthy is playing tomorrow,” per Maurice said. Adding, "I couldn't justify leaving five veteran players back. We're taking the team. There are 40 spots open. We filled in with young players and players that are trying to make the team. Everybody plays."
Sounds like Bob and Knight will see some action today, but I’m wondering if the likes of Berube, etc., will be getting a longer look today.
I like the “no rest for the weary” approach Maurice has. Put them through a tough camp with lots of pace, and if you’re not hurt, you’re playing in preseason.
Per their Twitter account, both games should be streaming on the Panthers site.
