Talked to a source this morning who was quick to add that the Rangers move a Reeves is just the first of "two more players heading out," all of which is designed to clear up space for a trade they want to make happen "prior to Christmas."

There are two players the Rangers love in Horvat and Kane, but either player is a major addition, "not only in cap space but in the lineup chemistry". My source was adamant about the fact that Kane is the major target.

It had previously been largely felt that Kane would be moved much closer to the deadline, but the Rangers appear poised to jump that and get more out of Kane...
