|
The Columbus Blue Jackets do battle in their final home game for 8 days with a battle with a rising contender in the Los Angeles Kings at Nationwide Arena.
This is their first contest since April 16, 2022. Their last win against the Kings was January 6, 2020.
Los Angeles has made some minor adjustments to their team. They added Kevin Fiala long term after an offseason trade with the Wild’s cap problems.
Phoenix Copley joined as their third stringer / AHL starter with Ontario.
They lost Andreas Athansiou (CHI), Troy Stecher (ARI), Martin Frk (STL), Christian Wolanin (VAN), and Olli Maatta (DET) to free agency.
The team is remaining young through their development under general manager Rob Blake and president Luc Robitaille, expect in goaltending. They have veterans Jonathan Quick and Phoenix Copley, while they have Cal Petersen at $5M in the AHL.
As for the projected lineups for the 6pm tilt, Daniil Tarasov is to back up Elvis Merzlikins as Joonas Korpisalo is out short term with an undisclosed lower body injury for the home team.
For the Kings, Brendan Lemieux remains on the injury list, and Quick will be the crease.
