The Columbus Blue Jackets start a three game road swing this week in Sunrise, Florida with a battle with the Florida Panthers at 7pm, exclusively on ESPN+ and Hulu.
This is the second time this season, where the Jackets won their last game highlighted by a 47 save performance by Daniil Tarasov.
The Blue Jackets are off back to back wins at home, defeating the LA Kings in overtime and the Calgary Flames in regulation. The Jackets’ last road win was December 2nd against Winnipeg; however, the bigger concern, their last road win against an Eastern Conference opponent was October 23rd versus the Rangers with their backup in net.
Now, there is hope, as this is their first road game against the Atlantic Division. Only games played against them this season have been at home. They are 2-4-0 against the Atlantic this season, beating Montreal once and Florida.
Florida is in the middle of a three game home stand, losing to Seattle on Sunday. With only 3 regulation losses at home this season, and all to Western Conference teams, they’re looking pretty good.
Florida has Patric Hornqvist on the IR due to post concussion syndrome, hoping for a return for Anthony Duclair before the New Year.
It is expected to be a starting battle tonight between Sergei Bobrovsky and Elvis Merzlikins.
