I hope everyone had an amazing relaxing holiday weekend. This is going to be a shorter blog as I am dealing with some computer issues so trying to get it written in my notes app.

The Hawks kick off a three game road trip tonight and first up is against the red hot Carolina Hurricanes. Carolina comes in to this one on an 8 game winning streak and holds a 9-0-1 record over their last 10 games. This play has seen them jump to the top of the Metro division and 2nd in the entire NHL. The last time these two teams met it was the Kocketkov show as he led the Canes to a 27 shot shutout and it looks like he is going to get the call once more tonight.

Players to Watch
Martin Necas 14 goals 19 assists 33 points
Andrei Svechnikov 18 goals 13 assists 31 points
Sebastian Aho 11 goals 16 assists 27 points

Projected Starter
Pyotr Kocketkov 10-1-4 1.94 GAA .928 SV% 3 Shutouts

As for the Hawks, they will look to build off their 5-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets last Friday, but let’s be realistic here that is extremely unlikely to happen. Tonight, the net belongs to Mrazek, who will look for a bit of a revenge game against his former team. I do wish they would have gone back to Stalock as he looked great in his first game back from concussion protocol and having 3 days of rest it would have been too much on him. However, it seems that Coach Richardson is sticking with his rotation of one game on and one game off.

The World Juniors kicked off yesterday and saw an upset as Czechia took down the loaded Team Canada 5-2. I will talk more about this tournament once I have my computer up and running again but in the meantime would love to hear what you all think of the action so far and the hot topic of Bedard and Fantilli both trying to pull off the Michigan in a tight game.
