It’s MLK Day here in the States. An incredibly important holiday celebrating a true superstar for humanity…
On to hockey…
Matt Boldy has been extended by the Wild for 7 years at 7 million per year…Its a great signing by Guerin and could absolutely turn out to be a brilliant signing as the years go on if Boldy continues his development. This move may have repercussions this summer as the Wild may have to let some UFA’s move on (I wouldn’t expect the Wild to trade as long as they are in the playoffs)…
Pending UFA Matthew Dumba could be a casualty…
But you have to love Guerin’s decisiveness here. He has brought an amazing amount of team stability to the Wild.
Some really interesting games today…
Florida at Sabres:
These are two bubble playoff teams who both believe that they should be in the playoffs…
*The Panthers are the former President Cup Winner, but the shift to Maurice style hasn’t been smooth..Long term the Panthers will be better prepared for the playoffs…but they have to get there..
*The Sabres are scoring like the Panthers scored last year. They are crazy impressive..Great coachin.
Flyers at Bruins.
The Flyers are on a run right now. And they are playing 60 minutes…They have beaten the Metro leading Caps twice in the past two weeks, but they fell flat against the Leafs. The Bruins play a lot like the Leafs…but they do it better.
