Fresh off a surprising win against the Rangers in New York, the Canadiens will try to go for a second victory in a row when they welcome the best team of the west, the Winnipeg Jets. Martin St-Louis' men will have to take the ice without 3 more players as Juraj Slafkovsky, Jake Evans and Joel Armia have all been put on injured reserved. All 3 will be further evaluated this week and we'll know more about the lenght of their absence then. Meanwhile, Sean Monahan was put on LTIR in an administrative move in order to get some breathing room under the cap. Monahan is still making progress in his rehab and skating.
As a result of these new injuries, Rafael Harvey-Pinard and Rem Pitlick were recalled from Laval on an emergency basis. On the bright side of things, Mike Matheson will be back in the line-up to face the Jets but the coach wouldn't say which defenseman will make way for the veteran blueliner as he wasn't sure if he'd go for an 11-7 or a 12-6 line-up. What he did confirm though was that Samuel Montembeault would once again be in net.
The puck drop is set for 7:00 PM and if you are going, make sure to arrive early as the 10,000 first fans to enter the Bell Center will be given a Cole Caufield bobble head.
