If you had a chance to witness the unreal pass made by Jack Hughes last night to Hamilton which led the Devils to Victory over the Knights you know that this needs to be debated….NOW.

Didn’t see it?

So ok. Its just one play….but its not actually, as Devils analyst Arda Ocal tweeted today

“Hughes is the 1st @NJDevils player in franchise history to reach 30 goals and 30 assists in the first 47 games of a season. He’s also the first among players 21 years old or younger to do that in over 25 years. Only the 5th to do so since Gretzky did it in 1982.

There is no denying that McDavid is having a ridiculous season as well….

However, the argument could most certainly be made that Hughes is lifting the Devils higher than McDavid is the Oilers…. Of course Hughes plays for the Devils and McDavid plays for the mighty Oilers…so there is some bias built in here already…

However I truly believe Hughes is the current MVP…hands down. I fully expected this season we would see this from this kid, His talent is on par with the best Patrick Kane has ever brought…He will go down as one of the best Americans to ever play the game. For certain…
