Wild Put Wraps on Homestand Vs. Kings |

The Wild have a chance to make it three in a row as they wrap up this seven game homestand, when they play host to the Kings tonight.
It is quite the wintery scene here in the state of hockey as the snow is falling with expectations that could be a couple of feet before it is all said and done. That said the Wild and Kings will get things rolling and hopefully post game can get out of MSP with minimal delays.
LA has won the previous two meetings this season winning in a wild one back in the first week of the season 7-6 in St. Paul and then by in a low scoring affair in SoCal 1-0 a month later.
This will be Kevin Fiala's second trip back to the XCEL Energy Center since being dealt to the Kings and he is having a tremendous season with his new club. Fiala leads the Kings in scoring with 61 points through 57 games. The Kings have gotten exactly what they had hoped for when they acquired Fiala, while the Wild have struggled to find anyone who could pick up even some of the prodcution lost when Kevin was dealt.
On Sunday the Wild did manage to score more than two goals in regualtion for the first time in 11 games. It took some late game heroics for the Wild to cash in that fourth one which broke the tie and sealed the two points for the Wild.
That was a big win by all accounts, however it was a game the Wild controlled for the majority but let it slip late before Hartman's eventual game winner. The alarms should be sounding very loudly for the Wild brass, after seeing the team really turn off the heat during a rare 4-minute powerplay just over half way through the third period.
All the smiles and sounds bites of relief should not be taken as this was routine and the Wild can pull it all together whenever they need to. This was disaster averted at the highest level, period!
Wins are all that matter, and the Wild got the win on Sunday. For sure that is true and that needs to keep on happening for the Wild to secure a berth in this season's playoffs.
The lineup will be the same tonight as Sam Steel and Calen Addison both will watch from the press box and Filip Gustavsson again plays net for the Wild.
It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
