The Winnipeg Jets made a great deal for Nino Neiderreiter yesterday, but has been placed on the Jets' non-roster this afternoon as he was unable to get to Winnipeg in time for the game. With the trade deadline coming up quick, plenty of the dominoes have started to fall.

I said yesterday that the Jets had interest in Ivan Barbashev, but he was dealt to the Vegas Golden Knights for prospect Zach Dean, which is great value for St. Louis. Timo Meier is all but dealt to the New Jersey Devils, and Patrick Kane is more than likely headed to Manhattan.

The Jets could certainly use another middle-six winger to spark the bottom-six's scoring, and the options are running out quickly.

Some names to continue to keep your eye on:

Brock Boeser is available, and it sounds like Vancouver is willing to retain close to @2 million to make a deal work. He has been struggling, but has tons of upside that the Jets could make use of for a low trade-cost.

Tanner Jeannot has been made available by the Nashville Predators, and would be a great fit in the Jets' bottom-six. He would likely fetch a bigger return than Boeser or Neiderreiter, but his grit, physicality and offensive capabilities could be a huge asset to add to the Jets.

James van Reimsdyk has been linked to the Jets, and despite struggling this year, JVR still has 20-goal potential. He would be another low-cost acquisition, and Philadelphia is willing to retain salary to make a deal work. With only one year left, he would be a pure rental, but could be a useful one.

Max Domi and/or Sam Lafferty could be strong two-way additions from Chicago, and while I don't think this is exactly what the Jets will be looking for, it is worth throwing their names out there. Domi especially, as he is showing he has lots of offensive potential, though Lafferty's defensive game shouldn't go unappreciated.

Finally, Jakub Vrana could be an interesting addition. He cleared waivers and has spent some time in the AHL lately, but he has shown that he has all of the tools to be a strong sniper winger. If Detroit is willing to retain on his deal for this year and next, he could be a very underrated fit.

There is talk about Winnipeg looking at defensemen, too, however I think the primary target is a middle-six winger. Don't be limited by this list, though. Neiderreiter wasn't on anybody's radar to be moved before it happened, and it came out-of-the-blue.
