Update - Sundqvist to MN for a 4th
It looked like JVR to Detroit and Wings were going to try and extend him. Sundqvist looked to be heading out. But all of a sudden the deal for JVR seems to have fallen through. I’ll keep you updated
The Vrana saga is over. St Louis has taken the winner and Yzerman looks to have taken little or nothing in return.
Detroit will retain 50% salary, get a 7th round pick, as well Dylan McLaughlin who was immediately reassigned to Springfield. The 26 year old has never played in the NHL it has 125 AHL games, 7 ECHL games, 4 years in the NCAA and 4 years of NCAA action.
All I can think was that the organization. Was willing to take anything to get Vrana shipped out of town. The one source I have communicated with regarding Vrana’s career and it’s abrupt end had to do with trust/character issues as well as pushing off a shoulder surgery that could have been done and rehabbed before camp. Outside of that, I don’t know anything else other than this seems like a bargain basement deal for St. Louis if Vrana can return to form.
