THE single player that the Wild can absolutely not afford to lose is #97 period end of story. They are 25th in the league in scoring and 31st in 5-on-5 goals so to lose the one true scoring threat that they have would be absolutely devastating.

Marc-Andre Fleury stole the team two points last night in Winnipeg with his sparkling 46 save performance. Ironically it came a night after Jacob Markstrom arguably did the same against the Wild in St. Paul.

With the win the Wild drew even with Dallas atop the Central Division standings, with the Stars holding a game in hand. A 9-0-2 run for the Wild has them sitting 10 points clear of Calgary for the final playoff position in the Western Conference, but all is hinging on the status of Kaprizov at this point.

Kaprizov was in an awkward position when the Jets, Logan Stanley engaged him near the right wing boards, when he went down and Stanley fell on top of him, with his entire weight ending up extending Kaprizov's left leg on an uncomfortable position. Kaprizov in obvious pain tried took some time to get back to his feet and back toward the Wild defensive zone. He was able to take a headman pass that would have put him on a breakaway, but he could not and dished the puck to retreat to the Wild bench.

He was evaluated on the bench and then had to leave the ice under his own power but clearly favoring his left leg. Kaprizov will be evaluated further today by the team's medical staff to determine further what happened to the Wild's most valuable player.

Hoping for some positive news...

UPDATE: Kaprizov to miss 3-4 weeks with a lower body injury! Sammy Walker was recalled from Iowa.
