Let's start the restricted free agent pool of the player profile with the young enforcer from Mississippi.
Mathieu Olivier completed his first season with the Columbus Blue Jackets after being acquired via trade at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft for their fourth round draft selection.
Olivier, 26, had reached career highs in ever single individual department, for the expedition of plus/minus. In his inaugural Columbus season, he played in 66 games with five goals, 10 assists, 15 points, 81 penalty minutes, one game winning goal, and 75 shots on net.
Olivier joined the Nashville Predators as an unrestricted free agent in May of 2019. In parts of three seasons over 48 games, he had 2 goals, 6 assists, 8 points, and 88 penalty minutes.
Olivier has been the staple on the fourth line with veterans Eric Robinson and Sean Kuraly.
Olivier was almost moved at the deadline amidst Vladislav Gavrikov trade rumors to the Boston Bruins, including the asking price of the first and third round draft return they wanted. Columbus did not want to move Olivier. This screams he is staying in town.
Oliver had 10 fights in the 22-23 season, one in the preseason, and nine in the regular season. His fight card included
