GAME SEVEN, BABY!!!
What more can you say? It’s been a crazy series that has come down to what we hope will be an electric Game 7 ending with a Panthers victory.
Florida did something after the Game 3 and 4 losses that I didn’t think they were capable of: they loosened up and played their game.
There’s no doubt about it that the Cats were playing extremely tight in Games 3 and 4. They tried playing a more conservative game and it backfired, resulting in two losses and a massive hole to try and climb out of.
When faced with elimination in Games 5 and 6, they flipped the script and laid it all out on the line. Rather than let the game come to them and try to weather the Boston attack, they took the game to the Bruins and got them in a place of discomfort that they haven’t really experienced at all during this season.
There’s something to say about a team with their back against the wall who decides to open it up and let the chips fall where they will…
Let’s face it, no one thought Florida could hang with Boston. Even I had my doubts going into the series. But it turns out this is Florida’s greatest weapon. They have nothing to lose, and when you have nothing to lose you play YOUR game, and not how you THINK you should play. This is what makes a team dangerous, and this is the mindset Florida is in right now. They are playing their game, powered by the belief they can beat Boston.
If they play how they did the past two games, combined with their current attitude, nothing should be able to stop the Cats.
David will beat Goliath…
