Canucks Looking to Move Conor Garland |

It is not a secret that the Vancouver Canucks are looking to move out salary. After all, they are over the cap heading into free agency. As a result, they naturally are aiming to move out salary, and winger Conor Garland is the player that they are most actively trying to trade.
According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Canucks have been "actively checking prices on Garland." With that, the popular insider noted that Garland's expensive contract and the Canucks' cap trouble have made him "essentially a free asset" and teams "are asking for assets in return" for bringing him in.
Unfortunately, the Canucks are in a position where they need to do just that to free up some much-needed cap space. Getting Garland's $4.95 million cap hit for the next three seasons off the books would be massive and would open the door for Vancouver to make some other moves elsewhere.
Some teams to pay attention to in the Garland sweepstakes include the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, and Seattle Kraken.
In 81 games during the 2022-23 season, Garland posted 17 goals and 46 points.
