The pick is in! The Vancouver Canucks have selected defenseman Tom Willander with the 11th overall pick of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

When looking at the Canucks' prospect pool, it is clear that they need more notable defensemen, and now they have landed one in Willader. He is viewed as one of the top European skaters in this year's draft class and has the potential to emerge into a top-four defenseman.

Willander is coming off of a strong season. In 39 games with Rogle BK (J20 Nationell), he posted four goals and 25 points. He also appeared in his first two professional games with Rogle BK's top club, where he was held off of the scoresheet. He also recorded three goals and eight points in seven games at the U18 Worlds.

Willander is set to play for Boston University this fall.

How are we feeling about this pick, Canucks fans?
