The Toronto Maple Leafs are usually one of the favorites with oddsmakers to win the Stanley Cup over the summer, because of their large fanbase, but the club’s odds dropped significantly over the span of a few weeks after the departure of a half dozen free agents on July 1.
Betonline.ag had the Leafs at 10/1, tied for the third-best odds with Colorado and Edmonton, and behind the top favorite Boston Bruins and the reigning Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights as of the middle of June.
Toronto’s odds dropped to 14/1 behind the top favorite Avs (8/1), Carolina/Oilers/New Jersey (9/1), Golden Knights (10/1), New York Rangers (12/1), and tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning (14/1).

The Toronto Marlies announced their 72-game schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 regular season on Wednesday. Toronto opens their 19th season against the Rochester Americans on Saturday, October 14, followed by a matchup with the Utica Comets on Sunday, October 15 at Coca-Cola Coliseum.
The Marlies will conclude their regular season on Sunday, April 21 at home against the Cleveland Monsters.
Longest home stand: Five games – October 14 to October 24, December 30 to January 12
Longest road stretch: Nine games – January 14 to February 3
Busiest month: March – 13 games (six home, seven road)
Busiest home months: December, March, April – six games
Busiest road months: January, March – seven games
Busiest day of the week: Saturday – 22 games (13 home, nine road)
The Marlies will visit Scotiabank Arena for three games in their annual series, which includes games on Boxing Day (December 26), Family Day (February 19) and a Marlies and Maple Leafs doubleheader on March 16.
