Wings sign minor league center Cameron Hillis to PTO

The Prospect Tournament will be here fairly soon. Just over a couple weeks away and we’ll have a glimpse of some of the new prospects hit the ice. Use the link above to get the roster as well as set your opinion on who you want to see.

A PTO has been signed and training camp will have Cameron Hillis added to the roster. The 5’10” center was drafted by Montreal in the 3rd round in 2018. He was part of a deal that saw him as part of the Chicago organization last year but had no other offers. Detroit has gone in hard on the center position for the NHL, this seems like a way to pad the position at the AHL or even ECHL level.

This isn’t going to “break” the internet but always interesting to see the PTO list. My hope is still to see a prospect grab a veteran’s spot or at least force the office to keep them as long as possible. This signing offers some minor league depth in case of injury/call ups from the Griffins.
