After Jake Allen was stellar in his last two games, Cayden Primeau was given the net for Tuesday’s game against the Devils and tonight, it will be Samuel Montembeault’s turn to be the last line of defense. Speaking of defense, Kaiden Guhle was a full participant in today’s practice and was wearing a brand new fully tinted visor. The story doesn’t say if he’s just decided that a change of pace would be good or if his upper-body injury was in fact a concussion.
Montembeault’s record against the Columbus outfit is not exactly stellar, he’s started 6 games and has a 2-3-0. Across those 6 games, he’s got a 3.52 GAA and a .889 SP. In his media availability Martin St-Louis has confirmed that the goalie change is the sole modification to his line-up. Even though Guhle took part in the morning skate, he’s not ready to come back just yet.
It’s been a few days since Joel Armia was called up and he has yet to suit up for a game. There are rumblings out there that talks to trade the Finnish forward have resume. The possibility of a three team trave has been mention and names like Conord Garland and Anthony Manta have been thrown around as well. St-Louis told Armia to stay ready even though for now, he likes the way his team plays and it cannot take someone out of the line-up
The Jackets came to town with seven points to their name and with the exact same record (3-2-1) as their host. They've won their last game 3-2 over the Ducks. The game start time is back to the regular 7:00 PM.
