The Columbus blue jackets suffer a narrow defeat at the hands of the Washington Capitals by the final score of 2-1 in regulation time.

Period I

Tom Wilson opened the scoring unassisted for his third this year.

Columbus legend Sonny Milano had the insurance as the game winning goal for his second of the year from Nick Jensen and Rasmus Sandin.

Period III

Dmitry Vokornov had the lone Columbus goal for his second of his young career. Kirill Marchenko and David Jiricek had the other assists.

Charlie Lindgren had 34 saves on 35 shots.

Elvis Merzlikins had 25 saves on 27 shots

Alex Ovechkin was even with three shots on goal in 20 minutes of ice time

Kirill Marchenko had the secondary assist for his fourth of the season and was plus one with four shots on goal
