Throughout the season, we will check in on the Toronto Maple Leafs prospects to see how they are progressing. The 2022 Draft saw Toronto trade their first-round pick to get out from under the Petr Mrazek contract, but it appears the club selected a number of players with some promise.
Here is how the other players selected in the 2022 Draft are doing:
Fraser Minten - C (Kamloops Blazers - WHL)
Minten surprised many with an excellent showing at Leafs camp, making the club, and playing four NHL games before being sent back to his junior club. The 19-year-old was named captain of the Blazers once he was sent down and in five WHL games, he has six points (1 goal, 5 assists).
After being invited to Team Canada’s camp during the summer, Minten is expected to be a part of Team Canada for the upcoming 2024 IIHF World Junior in Sweden next month.
Fraser Minten (No. 16) scored his first goal of the season, grabbed an assist, and hit the post in the shootout in Kamloops' loss to Vancouver on Saturday.
He's also taken 70 faceoffs and has 17 SOG in 2 games.
The Mississauga native had a remarkable final season with the Chicago Steel (75 points – 30 goals, 45 assists) and in his freshman year at the University of Michigan, Moldenhauer has 2 goals and 4 assists in 12 games.
Nick Moldenhauer (No. 9) tallied his 1st goal in a University of Michigan jersey yesterday in an 8-1 exhibition rout against B.C.'s Simon Fraser.
The 22-year-old has had a renaissance since undergoing hip surgery before being selected in Montreal in 2022. After a solid season in the SHL with Farjestads, Hildeby joined the Marlies late last season, and this season, he has been the best of the three AHL goalies, with a 2-1-1 record, and a sparkling 1.26 GAA and .950 save percentage.
The 20-year-old winger was loaned to Amur Khabarovsk last season and had nine goals in 45 KHL games. This season, Magnitogorsk kept Grebyonkin and the winger has nearly matched last year’s goal totals (8) in 30 games.
Nikita Grebyonkin (No. 71) potted a goal in Metallurg's 4-3 loss against Lada today.
The 5’9”, 179 lb winger has been someone who has performed well in the WHL and at Leafs training camps since being drafted. After scoring 38 goals and 71 points last season, Lisowsky already has 12 goals in 19 games for the Blades.
Brandon Lisowsky (No. 8) collected a pair of goals on Friday in a 5-4 win against Swift Current.
