The Columbus Blue Jackets failed to hold the early lead, allowing four goals in the second period, falling to the New Jersey Devils by the final score of 4-1.

Period I

Cole Sillinger recorded the lone goal for the Blue Jackets for his eighth goal of the season. His early first period goal was assisted by linemates Yegor Chinakov and Johnny Gaudreau.

Period II

John Marino commenced the Devils’ goal scoring for his third of the season. Simon Nemec had the assist.

Alexander Holtz had the game winning goal for his 12th of the campaign. Cal Foote and Max Willman had the helpers.

Nico Hischer had an unassisted goal for his 12th this season.

Nathan Bastian recorded the final goal of the game for his third of the season from Kevin Bahl.

Alexander Holtz — after being called out last press conference, he had his 12th goal of the season.

Boone Jenner — his first game back he had a -1 rating with a shot on goal in 19:05TOI.

Goaltenders

Vitek Vanacek — allowed one goal on 30 shots faced for a 0.967 save percentage.

Elvis Merzlikins — had four goals allowed on 32 shots for a 0.875 save percentage.
